listing gains :-)
An IPO subscription date ends. The new shares allotments are done. The stock goes live on a stock exchange. (say BSE, NSE). that means, the trading of that stock on that stock exchange starts on that day. This day is listing date. The trading starts at 10 am. Now since its a new stock, the stock price overshoots a lot within first few minutes. (btw, it may go down too) Say, if its IPO price was 20 Rs, it may start trading right from 10 am at 35 Rs or so. If I sell at this point, I get this listing gain. Many a times, this surge lasts only for 10 15 min. If you will see the same stock at 10.30 am, it may have settled down at 27 Rs. So I now already lost 8 Rs.

Try this link

http://www.bseindia.com/cirbrief/notices.asp

All the new listing will be listed here at least one day before trading. (Provided somebody upload the information) Lot of garbage here! Even though company allocate one share for any reason (like employee stock option or right issue) notice will be uploaded here

Hello,
I am a new comer to this forum.
I hv been investing in the indian stocks for the last 25 yrs, and believe me, there is no other class of asset which can give you high returns as investment in shares. If you need any guidance pls do not hesitate to ask.
The present market is down due to heavy selling by FII but this will not last long. Do start buying stocks (say 10%) on every decline. The future of Indian companies is extremenly bright. Always buy for long term (minimum 2 years). Happy investing...shrikantp

Dear Friends,

Namaskar.

I was looking to buy some residential property from investment point of view in Pune. I looked for some places in baner, wakad also in magarpatta. but the prices seem to be a little hot. I saw price ranges 2000-3000/sq ft.

Is this a reasonable price for a 3BHK apartment for say 15 yrs horizon. I want to buy something which will appreciate nicely in that span so I can help fund my daughter's education.(I dont even want to think how much education especially medical education will cost then).

If any of you guys know more about these areas in Pune. Can you give me your opinion?

Thanks in advance.

Rajup: It all depends on the news about that company which might have happened overnight, such as earnings report, 8k/10k filing, stock splits, any economic news affecting that company or industry sector such as Crude Oil calamities, excessive demand for certain items overnight, contracts being signed with another company, etc. Following links might provide more information on this topic.

1.
How are Stock Prices Set Each Day?

2. Why don't stocks begin trading at their previous day's closing price?

Thanks Lot ! Great Reading .
I have one more query .Some times company opts for reduction of Share Capital and sets off the part or full accumulated losses . Mkt appriciates this if the company is in recovery mode .My question is how Capital can be adjusted against cumulative losses ?
