sarva pratham Nandya chi maafi maagun ha BB ughadat aahe. sadhya chya vaadhtya gas prices la tond dyayala kaahi tips (aahe ti gaadi na vikta) most of the tips might sound simple but help in the long run (actually even short runs). - clear the trunk, back seats and remove any excessive weight. - avoid excessive idling .. avoid drive thrus by parking the car and walk inside. - drive within speed limits (safer and saves tickets too). - avoid rush starts at the signals or from parking lots. - keep your car engine tuned and replace air filters regularly. - keep proper air pressure. - if possible, reduce the use of air conditioners. but on the other hand, driving with windows down on a freeway at a higher speed tends to drag your car. so this one is a bit tricky in summer conditions. - walk, bike, take a bus or car pool if possible. and finally if you are shopping for a new car, go for fuel efficient vehicle. here's one more: if you see a red light from a distance, just take your foot off gas and let the car roll to a stop. remember, everytime you apply brakes, you are wasting fuel.. of course, doesnt mean brake daboo naka.. :-)

Choosing a car with Manual transmission instead of Automatic is also a great way of saving fuel

samaáyaaXaozÊ maI kuzo AalaÜ maQao [qaoÆ Komalrishabh, by 'manual' if you mean Qa@ka pavarvar gaaDI caalavaNao , then you have a point But most vehicles today have a negligible difference in EPA mileage for the manual v/s automatic transmission systems. A manual transmission Civic for example will yeild 32 city/38 highway mpg, as opposed to 30 city/38 highway for the automatic on the same car. Now bear in mind the 32-city mileage for the manual is extracted under under controlled driving conditions, and under the expertise of a professional driver. So that 32mpg is more of a 'personal skill' attribute than a rigid specification. Moreover, it is upto you to decide if a 5 % savings in gas money from driving a manual v/s an automatic is indeed worth calling a saving. If you consider a driving average of say 1000 miles a month, 500 on the freeway and 500 on the non-freeways, then a manual vehicle will consume just 1.1 gallons less than an automatic per month. Thats roughly $3 in savings per month at current gas rates in the USA? Weigh these $3 in savings against the nuisance value of a manual transmission in a daily bumper-to-bumper commute to work, and an automatic transmission makes more sense. With CVT's becoming more commonplace, this difference in consumption between manual and automatic will reduce even further. By the way, speaking of savings in gas, car-pooling may give one a chance to save some. I have also heard that filling gasolene early in the morning and late in the evening saves you some marginal money in. Also, drivers who drive lighter coloured cars save marginally more than those who drive dark cars. Evaporation is the main culprit for gas-loss, followed by poor tyre inflation. Fun thing is evaporation losses are more if the car is driven less (chayla). So make sure you secure the gas-caps tightly, and make sure all 4 tires are equally inflated. Diesel vehicles out-score most gasolene vehicles on consumption and longevity. If you are in the market for a used vehicle, a diesel powered vehicle is worth a look. Use your vehicle to (its) death
. Vaigere vaigere
. But all said and done, I personally do not think that the rise in gas prices is still impactful enough to make us change our driving drastically.
