Its not fair to generalise this about boys. You can see more discussion about this in BB mentioned above. I have two experiences about the girls. I didn't let it go ahead to this extent though!!
Moderator, please take a note and move this conversation to the mentioned BB, should it be suitable with the theme of that BB.

If you carefully read above experince , then you would not have commented that I have generalised ONLY about boys. It could be about girls also , And regarding the Subject , it is not my comment / view about any body particularly , but it is my Experience which we had. So I put this in the Experience column.

Your experience is a valid one. I think Generally when a Indian boy decides on his own and sends a matrimonial proposal for himself, it is for sure that he is just trying to find HOW the girl is and the conversation of marriage never happens .
Indian Boys here in US , I mean not American Born are not that sensitive about marriage , they do all the internet time pass and eventually get married in India with help of their parents.
I guess the thinking is not that concentrated.
So, I believe you will find out lot of similar experiences.

Online matrimonials are misleading to a large extent. We accepted each other on a matrimony website, spoke on phone and then decided to meet. The photograph of that girl seemed to be okay. But I was really shocked when i met that girl in person. I was never very choosy about appearance but felt terribly cheated when I met her in person as there was no similarity between the girl and the picture. I politely rejected the proposal.
