Nice one Aarati. Did you try a portrait (vertical) of this?
Thanks Prashant I did try a vertical one, but it came out with a terrible shake, in spite of the tripod dont know what to do about that. BTW, are u still in India?

AH, We came back last week. I tried to call you once but it was switched off or busy. Fuzzy images are result of many factors. It was most probably the tripod. Vertical of the shot might have been better imo. Macro is ok. BG is ditracting.

train in south india did you like it?

Prashant, I have a basic tripod, and for vertical orientation, i have to turn the mounting plate at right angle. Guess that is what makes it unstable. Still, at least the camera is a compact A610. Obviously the tripod would have to be used with extreme caution henceforth for vertical orientation For the macro, how to avoid a distracting background? I mean a different angle of shooting is one solution, but in this case, there were twigs and grass all over the place, I chose the angle where the background was least distracting. Also, the DoF is another issue i was not able to handle. The closer i get to the subject, lesser and lesser of it stays in focus, so I get a limitation on the orientation there too, i mean i also need to be as parallel to the subject as I can. Any suggestions to counter these problems? P.S. Have sent you a PM
Rahul, the idea of the picture is fundamentally good. I feel the pictuer would make a better impace if the train stands out some way. Right now it kind of merges in the scene.
how to avoid a distracting background?>>> One way is to use tele lenses. Tele-macro are great. This is normally not an option with PS system. The only solution to most of the 'macro-related' problems is a real macro lense. Why not buy a macro lense for your N80? There is one made by Cosina which is all plastic but fine glass. Costs 100$ new.

aarati, Prashant has mentioned a small equipment under "Small things make difference" (something like this) to avoid problem for vertical orientation setup for camera on tripod. I am thinking on how to manufacture the same for personal use.
Desaya, Kai re email milali kai? Kuthli company? The 'L-Bracket' is a boon for vertical compositions. It should not be very difficult to make one which 'does' the job.
