poranno hi saraswat delicacy SOLKADHI try kara...sahi banate...mi try keli ..zakkas zali agdi... 1 coconut grated 4-5 kokam or amsol (kuthlyahi indian store madhe milte) 2 green chilies 4-5 cloves of garlic a handful of coriander leaves salt to taste Method 1.Soak the kokam in half a cup of water for half an hour. At the end of this the water becomes a deep pink in color. 2.Grind the coconut into a paste with the garlic, a chili and 2 kokam fruits. Add a little water if necesary. When the paste is smooth, extract the coconut milk. Keep grinding until no more coconut milk can be obtained. 3.Add the coconut milk to the extract of Kokam and sieve the liquid. Chop the other chili into the liquid. Add salt to taste and sprinkle coriander leaves on top. 4.Chill, and serve cold with fried fish and rice. SARANG

You can also 'cheat' by using 1 can cocnut milk 4-5 cloves of garlic 1-2 black peper corns handfull kokam grind it all togther, strain it if you wish, add salt to taste and enjoy.

Tumha sarvana nonveg. barobarachi solkadhi aathavat aasalech. SOLKADHI- Panyat kokam(7-8)thodavel bhijat ghalavit. (kokam june asatil tar kami chaltil). 1/2 of Ardhi naralachi vati khobare kisun ghyve(kinva saral supermarket madhun GOYA che frozen ole khobare aanave-you get same test to kadi). 2-3 garlic pods,1-2 green chillies. Khobare,Garlic,Green Chillies mixer madhe vatun tyacha pilun ras kadhat rahava aani ha ras kokam jya bhandyt aahet tyat pilava.Ras pilatana khobare kadit padu naye mhanun ras galanyatun pilava.Ashaprakare 2-3 vela pani ghalun ras kadhava.Nantar chavipurate mith ghalave. Phodni- varun kadhila Kadipatta va mohari chi phodni dyavi. ( Hi SOLKADI pachanas va chavis ekdam uttam. Chicken va Mutton khalyavar jarur pyavi.) Nusata Kadi-Bhat pan changala lagato. Sandhya, solkadi chya naavane tondala paani sutle ! goes extremly well with any non veg, sp sea food. For US people who have no access to naral or mixer you get coconut milk in super markets, usually in the thai section.(hav to search) CAUTION: be very sure you get the natural unsweetened coconut milk. you also get that sweetened version (which is used to make pina colada). the first time I bought that by mistake, solkadi tastes aaargh ! in that. (you also get coconut milk in indian stores but sometimes they keep very old. the one I got from indian store was bad. it should be a uniform liquid. ) good kokam you hav to get from india, sp goa. if you dont even have access to kokam and still want something which tastes slightly like solkadi use tamarind ! (but does no hav that magic of kokam)
