Vaidehi Chitre is a filmmaker and writer. She acquired a B.A (English) from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, an M.A (English) from the University of Mumbai, a PG Diploma (Social Communication Media) from Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai and an MFA (Cinema) from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, U.S.A.

Her films have been screened at global film festivals such as the Reel Women International Film Festival and South Asian Women Film Focus. Her play, Other Side of the Door, was selected for the prestigious Samuel French Off Off Broadway Original Short Play Festival in New York. Currently she is also a guest writer for the online magazine, Matters of Art, covering new genre & time-based art.
