Will it be reniewed ? or u will have to apply for the new one ? confirm this before.
Second thing ( for new passport ) : they will return your old passport to you ( as it has valid visa stamped on it ), only thing they will do is that thay will mark old passport as 'cancelled'.

I got my original passport in March 1991 and it is not renewed when it expired in March this year. After 10 years you need new passport.
I got new passport last week and I received it within 4 days from New York. I received my old passport back too.

They need 5 photographs and usually you get only 4 from most of the shops around here or AAA. Ritz camera was able to give me 5 copies without taking another picture.

1) Application Form,
2) Old Passport (in original);
3) Five Passport size photographs showing frontal view of full face;
4) Index card;
5) Affidavit in the prescribed proforma;
6) Photocopy of the first five and last two pages of the passport; Pages indicating US visa;
7) H1 visa copy (in case application is being mailed, a notarized copy of these documents can be sent);
8) 40$ money order. (jumbo passprorts samplet mhantat)

I did not have a good experience with Consulate General Chicago. I wanted to know status of my passport renewal. They donot reply to emails, faxes or phone calls. Does anybody have a similar experience dealing with them?

राजश्री, माझा आणि माझ्या मुलाचा पासपोर्ट एक महिन्यापूर्वी ह्युस्टन काउन्स्युलेट्मधून रिन्यु होऊन आला. त्यांनी वेबसाइटवर लिहिलंय, 'साधारण ५ आठवड्यात पासपोर्ट हाती पडेल. कुठल्याही पत्रव्यवहार, ई-मेल किंवा फोन कॉलला उत्तर दिल्या जाणार नाही'. आणि खरंच ५ आठवड्यात पासपोर्ट मिळाला. (मुलाचा ३ आठवड्यात आला.)
